AUTONOMY OF PAPHOS GENERAL HOSPITAL HAS BEEN PASSED

Filenews 16 May 2025 - by Dora Christodoulou

The autonomy of Paphos Hospital from Limassol has essentially been a fact since yesterday. The proposal for a law submitted by the Paphos MP of DIKO, Chrysanthos Savvidis, for the administrative autonomy of public hospitals has been passed by the Parliament and now the Paphos district will have its own Executive Director.

Speaking to "F", the rapporteur of the proposal pointed out that this is a very important development that strengthens the administrative structure of public hospitals and will contribute to the further improvement of health care services. At the same time, Mr. Savvidis stressed, it lays the foundations for the financial autonomy of our hospitals.

This success, Chrysanthos Savvidis concluded, is yet another pre-election commitment that is being implemented.

The bill was voted by DIKO, AKEL, ELAM and EDEK MP Andreas Apostolou.
