The police in Paphos during the Easter period are considered effective by the force's staff. With the exception of isolated incidents of the use of firecrackers and anti-social behaviour by young people, the festive period passed much quieter and safer in the city and district of Paphos than in all other areas of the Republic, officials estimate.
The very visible presence of the Police in the city and the suburban areas of Paphos, with the aim of consolidating the law and the feeling of safety of citizens during these Easter days and the increased traffic in the province, will continue uninterruptedly in the coming period, officials stressed to "F", given that we are now entering the summer tourist season and traffic in Paphos will be increased on a permanent basis.
Patrols of the Paphos Police Directorate will therefore be on a daily basis on the streets, making complaints about traffic violations, taking care of the prevention of serious illegalities and criminal actions, but also coming into contact with young people mainly to keep them away from anti-social activities and dangerous practices on the streets.
The Assistant Police Director of Operations of the Paphos Police Department, Michalis Nicolaou, speaking to "F", pointed out the importance of the Police's cooperation with society to enhance security and law.
The Paphos Police Department, Mr. Nicolaou said, expresses its satisfaction with the response of the citizens and continues its efforts to prevent and inform the public, in view of the summer season when the number of visitors to Paphos will be particularly increased.
