A 52-year-old man was arrested by the Police, in connection with an investigated drug trafficking case.
As part of the actions to identify persons importing drugs into the Republic, following relevant information, members of the Anti-Narcotics Service – YKAN, in cooperation with officials of the Customs Department, shortly before 4.00 p.m. Friday, at Paphos Airport, identified the 52-year-old, who arrived a little earlier in Cyprus, on a flight from a European country.
With his consent, the 52-year-old was taken to the Paphos General Hospital, where after medical examinations, foreign objects were found inside his body. He was detained for hospitalization at the Paphos General Hospital. During his hospitalization, he expelled a number of nylon packages, with a quantity of white powder, believed to be cocaine, with a total weight of about 537 grams.
The 52-year-old was arrested Friday with a court warrant, while yesterday, an eight-day detention order was issued by the Paphos District Court for the purpose of investigating the case.

Three young men, aged 19 and 20, who were arrested in Larnaca for the case of rioting, possession of explosives and an offensive instrument, will spend Easter in the cell. The arrests were made in the early hours of Holy Saturday in the area of Agioi Anargyroi, after an incident in which about 20 people participated.
According to the Police, the youths started throwing firecrackers at the patrol vehicles upon the arrival of the authorities at the scene. During the investigation, five firecrackers and a folding club were found in the possession of a 20-year-old.
The three arrested were brought before the Larnaca District Court, which ordered the detention of a 20-year-old for two days, while for the second 20-year-old and the 19-year-old, it was decided to detain them for one day.

The Police and Fire Brigade forces in Limassol were on high alert last night, Holy Saturday, due to continuous incidents with young people lighting fires in the streets.
As we are informed by the Police, groups of young people set up fires in various areas of the city, such as in Agios Nikolaos, Agia Fyla, Polemidia, and mainly in places near churches, shortly before the faithful rushed to participate in the liturgies of the Resurrection.
A Crisis Centre operated at the Limassol Police Directorate for the better coordination of operations.
Although the fires were extinguished by the Fire Brigade, the young people return, rekindled new fires, creating intense concern and concern. Authorities were on the scene with increased patrols, in an attempt to prevent worse situations. The video posted on social media is indicative.
