Three suspects were brought before the Nicosia District Court on Saturday, after being arrested on Friday night for trafficking of adults for sexual exploitation.
The operation, carried out with the assistance of the anti-drug unit and the special mobile units, targeted a property in the Nicosia district. Police’s human trafficking bureau is investigating the case, which involves the trafficking of one person.
The operation highlights the police’s continued efforts to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
As of Saturday, the court issued an eight-day detention order for each of them as investigations continue. Authorities have yet to release further details about the case, as the investigation remains ongoing.

The Police arrested three persons, in the context of an investigation into a case of trafficking in adult persons. According to the Police, the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Bureau is investigating a case of trafficking of adult persons for the purpose of sexual exploitation. A victim of human trafficking has been identified for the case.
As part of the investigation of the case, a coordinated operation was carried out last night at a premises in the district of Nicosia, with the assistance of the Ministry of Health and Human Services, and three persons were arrested to facilitate the investigations. The arrested were taken this morning to the Nicosia District Court, which issued a detention order for 8 days.

Around 4.30 yesterday afternoon, a member of the Police, while he was in the area of Agios Athanasios, noticed store employees running outside it, shouting about theft and following another person.
According to an announcement, the member of the Police immediately followed them and in a short detachment the suspicious person was stopped. After he was shown his ID card, it was found that he was a 47-year-old resident of Limassol.
A search of the bag held by the 47-year-old followed, where two jackets were found which were identified by the store employees as the stolen items. Also, during a physical search, a folding knife was found in his pocket.
The 47-year-old was arrested for flagrant offenses and then, after being transferred to the Germasogeia Police Station, he was charged in writing and released to be summoned before the Court.
The Germasogeia Police Station continues the examinations.

Duty-free tobacco products and a number of firecrackers were detected in a coordinated operation carried out this morning in the province of Morphou, members of the OPE and TAE of Morphou and the Peristeronas Police Station.
Specifically, in the context of collecting and evaluating various evidence, the members of the Police conducted an investigation based on a court warrant, at the home of a 32-year-old man in the province of Morphou, where 79 boxes of cigarettes of various brands, 5 boxes of heated cigarettes and 8 kilos of tobacco were found.
During interrogation, the 32-year-old reportedly mentioned that what was found was his. All tobacco products were confiscated by officials of the Customs Department and a fine was imposed on him.
He was then transferred to the Peristerona Police Station where he was charged in writing and released to be summoned before the Court.

A 31-year-old Greek Cypriot man who was wanted in connection with the bloody incidents in Oroklini on Saturday, April 5, was handcuffed by the Larnaca Police Department.
The suspect along with the 35-year-old administrator of the block of flats where immigrants lived are expected to be referred to a direct trial tomorrow before the Permanent Assize Court of Larnaca.
So far, 11 people have been arrested for the case, 5 Cypriots and 6 foreigners.
It is recalled that the incidents unfolded in a complex of apartment buildings in Oroklini, and resulted in the critical injury of a 27-year-old and the serious injury of a two-month-old infant.
