“We walk through our city every day,” say organisers of a free upcoming walking tour, “but which women do we pass by without realising, whose memory now lives on through monuments, streets, and buildings?”

The Paphos Youth Multicenter is organising the special walking route dedicated to the women who shaped the history, culture and identity of the city. The walk, in Greek, is set for Saturday, March 8 which is by no means a random date as it is International Women’s Day. As such, the event aims to be more than just a guided tour but a journey through memory, paying tribute to important Paphos women.

“We won’t just visit locations,” organisers add, “we’ll uncover the stories of mythical and real, anonymous and renowned women of past centuries who left their mark on the historical landscape.”

The event will begin from the Paphos Youth Multicentre at 10am with Valanto Konstantinou, a certified tour guide of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, leading the participants. As participation is free, the spots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited.
