By October, the tender will be awarded to the new contractor for the completion of the first phase of the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous road. The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, revealed that the studies have been completed, the preparation of the documents is progressing and by October the tender will have been awarded to the new contractor. He reiterated that the state's commitment is to complete the first phase of the project within three years, clarifying that the project, when completed, will now concern four lanes while additional works will be carried out, such as the connections to Mesogi and Marathounta. The goal, he added, is to create a proper and functional four-lane highway that will ensure road safety and the development especially of the Polis Chrysochous district.
The President of the Paphos HOA, Charalambos Pittokopitis, expressed full satisfaction with the positions of the Minister of Transport in relation to the Paphos – Polis road.
