Police have made a third arrest in connection with the kidnapping case of a minor in Limassol.
Specifically, as reported by the Police, in the context of investigating a case concerning the offences of conspiracy to commit a felony, abduction of a person or kidnapping for the purpose of hidden and unfair confinement, robbery, etc., which were committed on 28/02/2024 in Limassol, the police proceeded yesterday at noon to the arrest of a young man aged 181/2 years, a resident of the Limassol district.
Two men aged 29 and 24, who were arrested on March 1, 2025, are already in three-day detention for the same case.
We recall that this accusation of kidnapping was made by a 17-year-old.
According to what the minor foreigner from Syria claimed, on February 28 around 11:45, while outside a kiosk in Kolossi, he initially stopped a sedan vehicle, in which a man and a woman were aboard. At the same time, he stopped a van, from which the driver got off and, by force, put him inside the vehicle.
A little later, the vehicle stopped in the area of Kolossi Castle, where he realized that both persons who were in the first vehicle were present. Then they stole his cell phone, beat him and abandoned him at the scene.
The attackers threatened him that if he filed a complaint with the police, they would kill him and burn down his house. The 17-year-old returned home on foot and then, accompanied by his mother, filed a complaint with the police.
The Episkopi Police Station continues the examinations.
