Police have arrested the driver who allegedly sexually harassed a 16-year-old high school student in the Larnaca district.
The suspect is expected to appear today before the Larnaca District Court for a detention order.
As revealed by Filenews, the student reported the said bus driver on Monday afternoon. According to the complaint, the bus driver sexually harassed the student on several occasions between January and last Wednesday.
It is noted that as our website is informed, the 60-year-old shortly before his arrest had been removed from all school bus routes, until the investigation of the case was completed.

The 21-year-old is believed to be responsible for the drugs found in his 49-year-old mother's bag outside their home in Larnaca. The woman, according to Filenews, seems to have tried to prevent the arrest of her son and hid in her bag drugs that were in the house, which were found by members of the YKAN. For this reason, only the 21-year-old will appear before the Larnaca District Court in order for a detention order to be issued. The mother was released and will be brought to justice at a later stage.
The case came to light after an operation by YKAN in a refugee settlement of Larnaka, following information that the young man was trafficking quantities of drugs. The 49-year-old was searched shortly before entering her son's vehicle. In her bag were found 19 nylon bags containing white powder with a gross weight of 7 grams believed to be cocaine, cannabis resin with a gross weight of 7 grams and cannabis plant matter of 4 grams.
During the subsequent search of the house, a quantity of cannabis with a gross weight of 11 grams, a precision scale, a firework, a flare, 5 firecrackers and a spray for the discharge of harmful gases were found in the living room of the house. In addition, according to the Police, during the search of the residence in the residence, 3 smoked cigarettes containing cannabis, 9 grinders with traces of cannabis, an iron fist and the amount of €3,270 were found.

Police arrested three people yesterday for robbery, car arson, illegal possession and transport of a firearm, possession of drugs.
As part of the examinations regarding two investigated cases of robbery and arson of a car, offences committed between the dates 2/12/2024 and 11/12/2024, members of the ICF Nicosia conducted a search yesterday afternoon based on a court warrant at the home of a 23-year-old man in Nicosia.
When the members of the Police entered the house, in addition to the 23-year-old, there were two other persons aged 44 and 18.
A search followed where they found a loaded revolver with three rounds of ammunition, a quantity of methamphetamine weighing a total of approximately 120 grams, two precision scales and various other items which were taken as evidence.

The ICF of Nicosia made a fourth arrest this afternoon in the case of 14 mobile phones and 12 chargers found camouflaged in a refrigerator .
He is the father of one of the two life sentencers allegedly behind the bespoke operation to import mobile phones into prisons.
His arrest was based on testimony obtained by ICF investigators. Three other persons are in five-day detention for the same case.
The mobile phones were found hidden in a small refrigerator ordered by a life-long prisoner and it appears that a second life-long prisoner is involved in the case.
Their location was achieved after a coordinated operation by the Police and Prisons.
