Signs reading the phrase "British Genocide Base" were placed on the roads leading to Akrotiri.
The signs appear to have been placed by pro-Palestinian activists, while relevant photos are making the rounds on the internet.
The "UK-US: BASES OUT OF CYPRUS" campaign is underway, which, according to a press release, aims to "expose how British bases are used as tools of oppression and war."
As reported, "the continued use of Cypriot territory for aggressive military actions further reinforces the urgent need for the decolonization of these bases."
