With temperatures of the Coral air mass polar and the mercury plummeting to -9 degrees Celsius, the Met Office has just issued a yellow warning for extremely cold temperatures.
The warning comes into effect from tomorrow at 22:00 until 8:00 on Sunday 23/02/2025. "The minimum temperature in the higher mountains is expected to drop to around -9 degrees Celsius."
As the Meteorological Officer, Andreas Chrysanthou, stated earlier: "A further drop in temperatures is expected especially on Sunday, Saturday and Monday, as in the interior the maximum temperature will not exceed 10 degrees, on the coast it will approach 10 degrees and in the higher mountains very low temperatures will be observed, which in the evening hours will probably range below -8 degrees".
