Every year state hospitals lose around €10 million. from their revenues due to the lack of a price list for the services of TAEP but also due to the care at 2013 prices of foreigners, tourists and other non-beneficiaries of the General Health System.

Caesarean section, as reported to the parliamentary committee on Health, in state hospitals is charged €2,500 while through the GHS, for the beneficiaries of the System the Organization receives €5,500.

The parliamentary health committee was discussing an amending bill which aims to revise the existing SHSO price list, which was drawn up with the data of 2013 and is in force until today.

It is also noteworthy that in the Accident and Emergency Departments there is no charge for non-beneficiaries of the GHS.

"A tourist comes to TAEP, receives services, pays nothing, leaves and the damage remains in the SHSO due to the lack of a price list for First Aid," the Organization said.
