PAFOS TOURISM BOARD MEETS WITH THE SALAMIOU COMMUNITY - ENHANCING EXPERIENCES OF RELIGIOUS, CULTURAL & GASTRONOMIC INTEREST
With in the framework of actions to enrich local tourism, executives from the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism recently visited the charming community of Salamiou. This gathering was part of the strategy to promote rural areas and expand the prestigious cultural route of the Council of Europe, known as “The Routes of the Olive Tree,” throughout the picturesque Paphos District.
The meeting brought together executive from the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism, the esteemed president of the Salamiou Community Council, Mr. Panagiotis Papadopoulos, and dedicated council member Mr. Ioannis Ioannou.
The discussions were lively and productive, as participants exchanged valuable insights and suggestions. Focused on enhancing the visitor experience, they explored critical areas such as improving the interpretation of points of interest, ensuring cleanliness, beautifying the local environment, and crafting new, memorable experiences for all who visit. Salamiou boasts centuries-old olive groves, particularly the renowned “Apostolitzes” Olives, making it an ideal candidate for inclusion in culturally rich routes.
These historic groves hold the promise of captivating both local and international visitors, in addition to the community's unique offerings in religious heritage and gastronomic experience. With in the mission to promote rural charm, the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism is dedicated to enriching experiences across various communities. Moreover, addressing and solving the critical issue of public transport between urban areas and the countryside remains a top priority.
