NEW DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE IN PAPHOS

 Pafos Live 9 February 2025

The Minister of Health, Michalis Damianou, inaugurated last night the new AIM Radiology Centre in Paphos.

In his inauguration speech on behalf of the President of the Republic, Mr. Damianou noted that access to high-quality health services is a fundamental human right, as stated in the Declaration of the World Health Organization of 1948. Improving physical and mental health is essential for every person's well-being and quality of life.

The new Radiology Center, in addition to its modern equipment, has the ability to offer services that may effectively serve the needs of citizens and we expect that it will contribute to the upgrading of health care in the region, he said. With the introduction of innovative diagnostic technologies, the center aspires to meet citizens' demands, offering services with professionalism and responsibility, he added.

Overall, he further said, the AIM Radiology Center is expected to be an important addition to the country's healthcare network and I believe that it will contribute to the further development of the health sector, with respect for citizens' needs and rights.

Continuing, the Minister of Health noted that "today underlines the importance of cooperation between science, professionalism and human dedication to health promotion". Centers such as AIM, he said, show the way to respond to health challenges and offer services that may contribute to quality care for citizens.

"With the inauguration of the AIM Diagnostic Center, we strengthen the harmonious coexistence of the Public and Private Sector through the GHS and their cooperation through the Health Insurance Organization," he said.

"Within the framework of this upgrade, additional value is given to our country's health infrastructure and in this way the further development of Medical Tourism is assisted, which is expected to make Cyprus an important center of excellence in the provision of health services, both in Europe and in the Middle East," said Mr. Damianou, adding that "also, improvements are expected in the health services offered through the GHS".
