MUNICIPALITY OF HIEROKIPIA - 'GEROSKIPOU' OLYMPIC SWIMMING POOL
ETAP welcomes the start of upgrade projects in the Municipality of Hierokipia. The Pafos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company welcomes the recent announcement of upgrade projects and in particular the restoration project of the swimming pool at the “Geroskipou” Olympic Swimming Pool, as well as the connection of the outdoor fountain with the linear park at the Seven Saints Georges, which will be further enriched and upgraded.
The upgrade of such infrastructure is truly of strategic importance and ETAP congratulates the Municipality of Hierokipia for these initiatives. The Municipality of Hierokipia has all the prerequisites to contribute as much as possible so that the destination can be established as an ideal destination for athletes, particularly in the fields of football, cycling, swimming, running.If we want to mitigate seasonality as a destination, the right direction that ensures the future of the entire province is continuous investment in upgrading the quality of infrastructure in general. Investments in specific infrastructure such as, for example, adding auxiliary fields for football team training, upgrading the Olympic swimming pool in Geroskipou are essential, as well as the continuous improvement of the experiences we offer.
The Paphos Region Tourism Board takes this opportunity to call on other local government bodies to aim in this direction of continuous upgrading of infrastructure, beautification of the built environment, as well as the adoption of good practices for technological/digital upgrading
