In countries like Sweden, Germany and Switzerland, waste management is not just an obligation, but an opportunity! There, citizens do not just pay based on the rubbish they produce, but are rewarded when they recycle properly.
How does it work?
Those who recycle more or compost pay less council fees.
In some areas, recyclables are exchanged for money or discounts on services.
In Sweden, most waste is converted into energy, reducing the need for landfills.
In Cyprus, we are still struggling with rubbish under bridges...
The Green Party supports policies that will make "Pay as You Throw" fairer and pave the way for a recycling reward system.
Time to see garbage as a resource and not as a problem!
