A double search by the Prisons and the Police was carried out at dawn in prisoners' cells, as a result of which mobiles, chargers, a smart watch and alcohol were found.
The searches were carried out by the prisons in the new wing. The Commission cannot accept Amendment No 11, which was recently inaugurated where illegal items were found and confiscated.
People who until recently were detained in police stations due to lack of prison space, as well as convicts who had served part of their sentences, were moved to this wing.
At dawn, police searches were carried out, this time in wing no. 9. Specifically, members of the Police with a search warrant in hand, conducted searches in the cell of a specific detainee, however, nothing objectionable was found.
All the items found will be forwarded for forensic examinations, while detainees will face disciplinary consequences.
A draft law that has been drafted now criminalizes the possession of mobile phones and any other illegal objects found in the possession of prisoners and prison guards.
