Cyprus ranks second among six regional markets for hotel quality in the 2024 summer season, according to new research.
The country achieved an 86% general satisfaction index (GRI), positioning itself ahead of Italy and Spain (both 85%), and trailing only Greece (87%), revealed analysis by INSETE, the research institute of the Greek Tourism Confederation.
The comprehensive study, covering April to October 2024, analysed guest feedback across multiple criteria including service, cleanliness, room quality, and value for money. Data was primarily sourced from Booking.com (56%) and Google (23%) reviews, compiled by hotel reputation management firm Shiji Review Pro.
Cyprus consistently ranked among the top performers throughout the summer season, maintaining its competitive position against established Mediterranean destinations including Spain, Italy, France, and Turkey.
The rankings, which compared six major Mediterranean tourism markets, saw France and Turkey occupying the lower positions, while Cyprus maintained its place among the leading destinations alongside Greece and ahead of Spain and Italy.
