January is filled with music events. There are shows coming up, concerts, recitals, album presentations and intimate live gigs. Music lovers of the island, there is plenty to look forward to in the first month of 2025.
Event organisers and cultural institutions in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos are busy preparing a packed agenda for the first quarter of the year. In Limassol, Rialto Theatre has already announced the productions taking place at the venue in January and one of them is a piano recital by Cypriot artist Yiannis Georgiou, held under the auspices of the Mayor of Limassol, Yiannis Armeftis.
The pianist will take the stage at Rialto Theatre on Friday, January 31, for a piano recital showcasing some of the most treasured works of classical music. The evening promises to be an inspiring journey through masterpieces by Schumann, Brahms and Rachmaninoff.
The programme will begin with Schumann’s Kreisleriana, Op. 16 – a series of emotionally rich pieces filled with contrast and imagination. The second part features Brahms’ reflective late piano works, Op. 119, alongside selections from Rachmaninoff’s Preludes and Études-Tableaux, which highlight the composer’s unique ability to combine melody and virtuosity.
Classical piano aficionados will enjoy an evening of timeless musical beauty in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere during a month full of exciting performances at the Limassol theatre.
