A veil of fog covered areas of Nicosia early Monday morning (13/01) giving an impressive scenery, which is expected to continue in the coming days.
Speaking to Filenews, the officer of the Meteorological Service, Andreas Chrysanthou, said that fog will be the main phenomenon of the coming days, during the morning and evening hours, affecting areas in the interior and east, while isolated rains are expected to affect the island today and Thursday.
Asked if the snow that is advancing in Greece will affect Cyprus, Mr. Chrysanthou replied negatively. On the contrary, as he said, there is not expected to be a change in the weather until the weekend, while the temperature will be 3-4 degrees above normal for the season.
Therefore, in the coming days we will not see snowfall in Troodos, with the height of snow on the highest peaks being at this time at 12 cm.

The winds will blow mainly northeast to southeast and in the west in the afternoon southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little turbulent, but in the north and east, it will temporarily be a little turbulent. The temperature will rise around 19 degrees in the interior, around 21 degrees on the coast and around 12 degrees in the higher mountains.
