As of today, Monday 20 January 2025, an information and policing campaign will begin.
The campaign is about wearing seat belts, as well as seat lifts, but also about not using a mobile phone or other object while driving.
The campaign will run until Sunday 26 January 2025 and aims to enhance road safety and reduce road collisions.
Driver distraction is one of the most important factors in causing road collisions, while from the analysis of statistics during the three-year period 2021 – 2023, 52.5% of dead drivers and vehicle passengers did not wear a seat belt.
