Join us an evening of profound musical exploration, where the intricate interplay of strings will bring to life the works of Arthur Honegger, Bohuslav Martinů, and Pēteris Vasks.
This concert brings together three remarkable pieces for violin and cello, each offering a unique character. Arthur Honegger’s Sonatina blends lively energy with lyrical moments, while Bohuslav Martinů’s String Duo No. 2 combines rhythmic vitality with folk-inspired charm. Pēteris Vasks’ Castillo Interior adds a reflective and spiritual touch, inspired by the writings of Saint Teresa of Avila. Together, these works highlight the expressive range and beauty of the string duo.
The Italian violinist Demian Baraldi has performed as a soloist with prominent ensembles, including the Orchestra delle Venezie and the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto. He made his solo debut at Teatro alla Scala in Milan and has appeared in prestigious venues such as the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Chamber Hall. The Czech cellist Jakub Otcenasek is a graduate of the Prague Conservatory and the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität. He has performed at events such as the Prague Spring Festival and served as principal cellist of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. Otcenasek performs on a Vincenzo Panormo cello from 1809.
