Pafos Press 27 January 2025
A severed head of a wild boar was discovered in an area of the Paphos Municipality yesterday afternoon by members of the Paphos Police following information that reached them from a citizen.
Specifically, a citizen informed the authorities that in the parking lot of the Cyprus Electricity Authority, near the central Paphos roundabout, there is the head of an animal, possibly a wild one.
The authorities were immediately alerted, given that hunting this particular animal is prohibited since the wild animal is protected. Following this information, the police immediately notified the Game Service, whose members visited the scene and took the wild animal's head as evidence to proceed with further examinations. Pafos Press reports that the animal was not freshly killed, but still had remnants of meat and skin, resulting in a very strong and foul smell. Investigations are ongoing.
