PAPHOS - EDDIE, THE ABUSED DOG FOUND IN PEYIA IS BETTER OFF

Pafos Press 29 January 2025

Eddie the abused dog was released from the Veterinary Hospital where he remained for sixteen days after being abused and found.

Meanwhile, according to the Police, the Police's examinations continue for the purposes of investigating the animal abuse case in Pegeia. As reported by the Police, the two persons who were arrested in connection with the case a 30-year-old and a 61-year-old were released pending forensic examinations.

According to the animal welfare group "Stronger Together Animal Rescue," Eddie the abused dog, a resilient soul who has been through more than anyone could imagine, who was thrown into a trash can in bags, was given a second chance at life and is fighting with everything he has to embrace it.

Since being rescued, Eddie has made incredible progress, according to the vet who attended to him. He is still gaining weight, regaining strength and working on his coordination and balance, but his spirit is as strong as ever. Although he still has a long way to go, there is optimism that he will make a full recovery. His teeth are in very bad shape and his ears are also infected, but once he is stable enough, Eddie will undergo surgery to remove a tumour from his thyroid, which is a big step towards restoring his health. The dog is being hosted by a lady who also has another rescue dog. In his new home, he will be taught everything he needs to know about life at home but also about how abundant love can and should be. It was also pointed out that Eddie's courage is proof to all other animals suffering from animal abuse that there are people who truly care and will do whatever they can to help.

Thanks are also expressed from Eddie's new owner as well as gratitude to the amazing professionals at Paphos Vets Animal Hospital in Kissonerga, for all the messages of support and to everyone who was able to spare a donation to support his current and ongoing medical needs.

It is noted that Eddie was found on January 16 in a trash can in Peyia by a woman from Canada who reported the case to the Police.
