The Ministry of Health made recommendations to the public on Monday for protection against respiratory viruses in order to limit the risk of infection.
In a statement, the competent Ministry reminds the public of personal protective measures in order to reduce the risk of respiratory virus infection.
It reminds the public to wash their hands regularly and thoroughly with soap and water or with an alcoholic solution, while recommending to avoid touching the face and specifically the eyes, nose and mouth (gateways for viruses to enter the body) in cases where they have not previously washed their hands.
He notes that he should limit his contacts as much as possible with people who are already ill and have symptoms, especially if he belongs to vulnerable groups.
Besides, he emphasizes that if someone shows symptoms of respiratory infection (severe cough, fever, runny nose), they must self-isolate and stay at home for at least 24 hours after their resolution.
It also recommends covering the mouth and nose with a tissue or the inner elbow area, the use of a mask in case of crowded conditions, and reminds the public to consult their personal doctor or the Personal Doctors On-Call Services in case of symptoms.
