One of the most famous world-class ballet companies, the Georgian Ballet, will give two performances in Paphos next March, organized by the Municipality of Paphos.
The performances will be given at the Markideio Municipal Theater on Sunday, March 23, at 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., with general admission of €30. Ticket sales have already begun via the Ticket Master electronic platform: www.ticketmaster.cy (tel. 77777040) and at all ACS Courier stores.
The Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili is 80 years old and was the first professional dance company in the country. It presents the rich musical and dance tradition of Georgia and the Caucasus in a unique way. The group that will perform in Paphos, consisting of approximately 50 artists, dancers and musicians, will present an impressive program, full of passion, skill and the authentic Georgian soul. The dance company is accompanied by a five-member orchestra of traditional instruments.
Under the direction of distinguished artists, the Georgian Ballets bring to life the enchanting history, music and culture of Georgia through dances that captivate the viewer. Their program includes impressive Georgian dances with acrobatic movements, elaborate costumes and musical compositions that highlight the rich heritage of the country.
The Georgian Ballets have won distinctions / awards and recognition in many countries, which is proof that their art knows no borders. Their performances have been described by the audience as “an ode to the human soul”, while critics have spoken of an experience that combines tradition with modern aesthetics in a masterful way.
