Cyprus Police 4 January
A 49-year-old man was arrested by members of the Larnaca Police, as part of an investigation into two cases of residential burglaries. The Police found in the suspect’s possession property that had been stolen from a residence, following a burglary. The 49-year-old was located yesterday afternoon in Larnaca, by members of the Police, who proceeded to arrest him pursuant to a court warrant. The court warrant had been issued based on information obtained during the investigation of a case of attempted residential burglary in Larnaca, which was committed on December 9.
The arrest of the 49-year-old was preceded by the collection of information and evidence linking him to a second case of residential burglary, also in Larnaca, which was committed last Monday, December 30. Various valuables, such as jewellery, watches, and gold coins, were stolen from the residence. Upon locating and arresting the 49-year-old, a bicycle, three watches, and a number of phone cards were found in his possession, while a search of his residence found, among other items, watches, pairs of sunglasses, women's handbags, and a full cartridge of a firearm. Since the 49-year-old did not provide a satisfactory explanation for the property found, the Police proceeded to arrest him for the flagrant offense of illegal possession of property, with the Police investigating whether the property found was stolen. Much of the property found has already been determined to have been stolen from the residence in Larnaca, during its burglary on December 30.* * * * * *
