ALMOND BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

The almond blossoms, the first flowers of the year, the flowers that send their optimistic pulse over the frozen earth, inviting life to begin a new cycle in the process of nature's rebirth, are celebrated in all their glory this year in Yiolou village, with a purely thematic and multidimensional festival, showcasing the unique treasures of the village.
The festival will open with a children's dance group, there will be experiential workshops for children, where flowers, almonds and almond wood become inspiration and source of creation, under the guidance of 4 professional trainers.
The musical and dancing group of KTIMA Folklore Club will accompany the program, along with other professionals, for a day full of joy and hope.
The community is preparing a thematic welcome for the visitors, which will take place at the central square, and visitors will be able to taste several products made from almonds, as 25 exhibitors will participate in the festival with almond products, as well as arts and crafts, cosmetics and soaps with almond oil and almond aroma.
The churches of the village (Chryseleousa, Agia Irini, Agios Georgios and Agios Markos) will be open for the pilgrims from 10:00 – 17:00. Also the Museum of Folk Tradition, the photo exhibition and the traditional flour mill of the village will be open for a visit.
The taverns of the village will be open for food and local delicacies with almonds.
Finally, there will be designated spots for taking pictures of the beautiful landscape of the village
