ACCESS TO GOVERNMENT ONLINE SERVICES RESTORED

Access to online government services has been restored, Norma Clippi-Pekri, deputy director of the Department of Information Technology Services (TYP) of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, said on Thursday, noting that the causes that caused the temporary closure of online government services are being investigated.

Klipi said that at this stage, accessibility to online government services has returned after the problem that had been caused to internet connectivity and that affected the smooth operation of all public services, especially those with internet access.

He added that the matter was still being monitored and the reasons were being investigated "in order to be sure that the problem will not recur".

Asked if the causes that caused the shutdown of online government services have been identified, Klipi replied that it is an issue that is still being investigated by the competent teams of the Department and concerns the connection to the internet.

Asked if there was a possibility of a cyberattack, Clippi said that "there are no indications of a cyberattack".
