The weather on Monday will be unsettled with widespread cloud cover and scattered rainfall. Local thunderstorms are expected, with possible hailstorms and snow or sleet forecast for the highest peaks of the Troodos mountains.
Winds will be predominantly southeasterly to southwesterly, occasionally variable, light to moderate at Force 3 to 4.
The sea will be smooth to slight.
Temperatures will reach around 16 degrees Celsius inland and along the coast, dropping to 8 degrees in higher mountain areas.
Evening conditions will remain partly cloudy with isolated showers possible, particularly in coastal areas. Winds will shift to southwesterly and northwesterly, reducing to Force 3, smooth to slight seas.
Tuesday will begin partly cloudy with a chance of isolated rain in western and northern regions, before deteriorating to mostly cloudy conditions with local rainfall and scattered thunderstorms. Hail is possible during storms.
The Christmas period, extending through Thursday, will see predominantly cloudy skies with intermittent local rainfall and isolated thunderstorms. Forecasters warn of potential hail during storms, while mountain areas are expected to receive snow or sleet.
Temperatures will rise on Tuesday before gradually declining to near seasonal averages for the remainder of the week.
