The Police are requesting information that can help identify or locate the persons depicted in the relevant photographs, regarding an investigated case concerning the offenses of rioting, illegal entry into a sports venue, etc., committed on 5/12/2024, after the end of the football match, between the teams Apollon Limassol – Ethnikos Achna, held at the ALPHA MEGA stadium, in Limassol.
Anyone who knows anything that may help identify or locate them is kindly requested to contact the ICF Limassol at 25805057 telephone number or the Citizen's Communication Line at 1460 or the nearest Police Station.
It is recalled that for the same case, the Police proceeded to the arrest of two persons, aged 30 and 29.
Specifically, after the end of the match, which took place at the Alpha Mega Stadium in Limassol, a team consisting of about 20 fans moved towards the entrance, which leads to the stadium offices. They were intercepted by members of the police, causing tension, with fans throwing objects at the officers.
To de-escalate the situation, members of the Police used tear gas and arrested two people, aged 30 and 29, for flagrant offences.
The Limassol District Court issued a two-day detention order. The suspects' lawyers objected to their detention for a period of six days, as requested by the police. In the end, the court ruled that the request for six-day detention was not justified and ordered their two-day detention.
The Episkopi Police Station and the ICF Limassol continue the examinations.
