PROMETHEUS SETS SAIL FOR SINGAPORE AND THEN ON TO THE MEDITERRANEAN

 Filenews 14 December 2024

Earlier today, permission was given by the Chinese authorities for the departure of the floating Prometheus gas gasification plant, owned by ETYFA.

The ship will initially head to Singapore and then continue its journey to the Mediterranean.

A possible destination is natural gas infrastructure in Greece (possibly in Alexandroupolis), to be certified as an FSRU. However, options are also being considered in Asia for the final improvements to the ship, so that it can receive certification and be used in a natural gas gasification terminal, until the works at the Vasilikos terminal are completed and ETYFA uses it to channel natural gas to Cypriot electricity production, after decades of failed attempts.
