NEW HISTORICAL RECORD FOR CYPRUS AIRPORTS

Pafos Live 20 December 2024

Hermes Airports announces the achievement of a new historical milestone for Larnaka and Pafos International Airports, as on December 20, 2024 for the first time passenger traffic exceeded 12 million total passengers.

This significant achievement comes after a period of significant challenges and upheavals in tourism and aviation brought about by both the pandemic and various geopolitical developments. The milestone of 12 million passengers is practical proof of the trust and dynamics that our country has as a destination and confirms the resilience of Cyprus' tourism sector.

From the first day that Hermes Airports took over the management of Cypriot airports, it has been implementing a systematic and targeted strategy to enhance Cyprus' connectivity which has yielded significant results as a steady expansion of air connections has been achieved by attracting new airlines, expanding the network of destinations and significantly increasing passenger traffic. Today, Cyprus' air connectivity has not only improved significantly, but has established itself at a very strong and competitive level.

The airport operator remains committed to its strategic goal of further expanding Cyprus' connectivity, emphasizing both the development of tourist flows and ensuring choices for the residents of Cyprus.

On the occasion of this important milestone, Hermes Airports expresses its sincere thanks to its partner airlines, as well as to all tourism operators, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, and the Ministry of Transport whose contribution has been substantial to achieve this result.
