INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES The Paphos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company, on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated every year on December 3, confirms it will in 2025, in collaboration with local bodies, AUB University and other stakeholders, begin the implementation of an accessibility study for the destination. The Paphos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company believes that through the effort to record the current situation and the mapping of all sectors that need improvement (in phases) the destination will be able to launch interventions so that in the long term it will become more friendly.

With the appropriate support and participation of everyone, an accessible environment - of equality can be created. The central focus of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is to eliminate inequalities, enhance accessibility in all areas of life, such as education, work and recreation, and ensure that people with disabilities have equal rights and opportunities. This day aims to raise public awareness about the rights, challenges and opportunities of people with disabilities, as well as to strengthen their equal participation in society. At the same time, it is an opportunity for society to recognize the obstacles faced by people with disabilities and to act to remove them, promoting policies and actions that enhance social integration and equality. The aim is to create an inclusive society and the necessary infrastructure so that everyone can live or visit the destination with dignity and autonomy.
