A coordinated operation by the Aliens and Immigration Service took place on Tuesday, 10/12/2024, aiming at the forced return of seven persons who were staying illegally in the Republic of Cyprus.
They were deported on a joint forced return flight of irregular migrants, carried out by the Greek authorities and coordinated by the FRONTEX agency.
This is the 16th participation of the Cyprus Police in joint return operations of the FRONTEX agency, for the year 2024.
It is noted that the total number of persons who have been deported/repatriated from Cyprus to their countries of origin for the year 2024 until 13/12/2024, amounts to 9,420, while the total number in the corresponding period last year was 9,276 persons.
