Greek Cypriots complained to police that they were attacked by delivery people. According to the complaint, they ordered food, which they refused to receive, as they claim due to a delay in delivery, it had cooled down and demanded a replacement.

Instead, they claim, the delivery man left and returned with 5 friends. According to the complaint, they attacked the two occupants and injured them and damaged the residence. The Greek Cypriot residents of the Mouttalou district have already filed a complaint with the police.

A coordinated operation was carried out by members of the Pafos Traffic Police in order to prevent traffic offences, during which they made 24 complaints within a twelve hours from Christmas evening until this morning.

According to the Police, members of the Pafos Traffic Police, in cooperation with the Paphos Traffic Police Authority, in the framework of a coordinated operation, carried out several checks and recorded 24 complaints between the hours of 19:00 on December 25th and 07:00 in the morning today December 26th.

Of the 24 complaints, two were for driving under the influence of alcohol, two for driving under the influence of drugs and the remaining for other traffic offences, such as hands-free driving.

Coordinated operations will continue at a later stage, police said

A 41-year-old Georgian man who was arrested yesterday by members of the cycling police in Limassol after he was wanted by the Greek authorities is being brought before the Limassol District Court this morning.

According to the police, the man who was wanted under a European arrest warrant was spotted yesterday afternoon in the area of Agia Zoni moving on foot. As it was found after an inspection, a European arrest warrant was pending against him in a case of attempted robbery committed in Thessaloniki.

The Georgian was sentenced in absentia to a multi-year prison sentence last November. He was sentenced to five years and 11 months in prison.

This morning he will appear before the Limassol District Court to begin the extradition process to the Greek authorities.

The 47-year-old man wanted by Russian authorities for the crime of fraud and who has been in custody since his arrest in Paphos last month will be brought again today before the Pafos District Court for the process of his extradition to the Russian authorities.

The court had initially stipulated that in order to ensure his presence, the 47-year-old would pay  €100,000 in cash, sign a bail of  €100,000 with a creditworthy guarantor, hand over his travel documents, have his details placed on the stop list, report to the central police station of Pafos and not pass through areas that the Republic does not control. However, the 47-year-old did not meet these conditions and was detained at the Paphos Police Headquarters.

The 47-year-old was arrested in Paphos after it was found that an arrest warrant was pending against him by the Russian authorities for the crime of fraud, which was committed between 2006 and 2015 in Russia.

A case concerning the offences of robbery, of the Combating Certain Forms of Manifestations of Racism and Xenophobia Law, is being investigated by the Police, as well as an attack causing actual bodily harm and causing malicious damage, which were committed today at dawn in Nicosia.

According to the evidence under examination, around 2 am today, in an area of Nicosia, a 31-year-old man was attacked by a group consisting of 5 to 10 people, who had their faces covered.

The strangers, after beating him with their hands and feet, stole his cell phone, a wallet, as well as his vehicle keys, while some of them reported homophobic and racist comments.

The 31-year-old was taken by a friend to Nicosia General Hospital, where it was found that he had various injuries and bruises and after receiving first aid, he departed for his home.

Preliminary examinations by members of the Police found the keys of the complainant's car near the scene of the attack, while it was found that the unknown caused damage to all four of his tyres.

The ICF Nicosia continues the examinations.

On Christmas Day, officers of the Department of Customs and Excise at Larnaka Airport selected two Turkish Cypriot passengers for baggage check-in, who would depart from Larnaka to the United Kingdom.

During the inspection of their four bags, 300 boxes of 200 cigarettes each (75 boxes in each baggage) were found, which did not bear the smoking harm label in Greek and Turkish, nor the security feature and unique traceability code, indications that they were duty-free.  The aforementioned quantity of cigarettes was confiscated by the officers of the Department of Customs, while the passengers were arrested and presented the next day before the Larnaca District Court, which issued a 4-day detention order.
