The public and Community Kindergarten of Tala gives back to the community by participating in the Pancyprian clean-up campaign “Let's do it!”
On Friday 1st November, the children, parents and staff of Talas kindergarten joined for the second year in a row, for a day of Community Action, dedicated to cleaning up and strengthening the local Amphitheatre and play area. Led by kindergarten director Theodora Ougarezou, the teaching and support staff, the initiative focused on improving the local environment, while fostering a sense of responsibility and pride among the participants, towards their community.
The project involved removing litter, tidying up green spaces and recycling, instilling an essential lesson for children—that even small actions can make a meaningful difference in building a better world. Parents were actively involved in the process, showing the value of example and reinforcing the message that caring for nature is everyone's responsibility. As part of the action, the children had prepared earlier drawings with ecological messages. With phrases such as "The park belongs to everyone, keep it clean", "This is a park, not a garbage dump " and "Enjoy the view without trash", these signs aimed to sensitize those who visit the park, giving a unique and joyful aesthetic to the space.
After their hard work, filling several bags with trash and recyclables, the children had time to enjoy their food and continue their day with plenty of play in the park, appreciating their efforts in a cleaner, safer space.
This event showed the lasting impact that working together in a community can have, not only on the local environment but also on the values we teach the next generation. Tala Nursery is proud to help make our community cleaner for everyone.
