POST OFFICE SCAM RELATING TO SMS

 Increased reports of misleading SMS messages being sent to mobile phones have been observed lately, according to the Department of Postal Services, which recommends caution to the public as it is apparently a scam.

According to an announcement, citizens are urged to be especially careful, no matter how plausible the sender or the messages they receive may seem, so as not to fall victim to fraudsters who act in this way.

Finally, please note that payments are not directed to JCCSmart's online payment platform, but to another email address. Payments are also not directed to the website of the Department of Postal Services. This is not the first time fraudsters have used the name of post offices for fraud.

For a sample of the new text of the misleading messages, the announcement records the following:

«Cyprus Post

You have a certificate notification from moi-gov-cy (REF. 274-193). Delivery failed due to a mismatch with the system address. Please check the data at the link below to complete the delivery: https://clck.ru/3EJfpp?_k=Fedee

Otherwise, it will be returned. You can contact Cyprus Post: 100 Head Office Address, Prodromou Street, 2063 Strovolos Postal Address 1900 Nicosia Call Centre Free number 8000 2000 For calls from abroad: +357-22310100".

So it is wise if you received the above message to avoid replying.
