The Paphos minors’ facility, currently situated in the heart of the Kato Paphos tourist district, is set to be relocated outside the city, local officials confirmed following concerns over recent incidents including a fire at the premises.
Deputy Mayor Angelos Onisiforou told philenews that November would be a “decisive month” for the facility’s relocation, following a recent site visit prompted by a fire incident in one of the facility’s apartments on October 13.
“The state must provide immediate solutions to an issue that has operational, legislative and social dimensions,” Onisiforou said.
The announcement comes after state authorities last week addressed information about the discontinuation of staff services at the facility.
