Hundreds of citizens turned into "free besieged" for hours who, at the time of the worsening weather phenomena in Paphos, were in shops in the city for their purchases.

The intensity of the weather phenomena trapped customers and staff inside the premises, making it impossible for them to move.

Characteristic is the video sent by customers of Papantoniou supermarkets in the center of Paphos, stressing that the supermarket officials had to close the doors to protect customers and products inside the store from the intensity of the phenomena.

It is worth noting that the area has only recently been renovated, with the creation of the largest park in Cyprus, but the infrastructure for rainwater has worked far from satisfactorily today.
