From Monday 25/11/2024 until Thursday 05/12/2024, excluding Fridays and weekends, between the hours of 21:00 at night and 05:00 in the morning of the next day, work will be carried out to install reflective studs at the junctions of the Limassol - Paphos motorway (A6) towards Paphos. During the execution of the work, one lane of traffic will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 500m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On a section of the Larnaca Airport – Ayia Napa motorway, during the period 22/11/2024 – 10/12/2024, between the hours of 06:00 – 07:00 in the morning, daily and on Saturdays, from the Kalo Chorio roundabout to the temporary exit created before the existing Livadia exit, in the direction of Ayia Napa, heavy vehicles will be transported by a private company. The movement of traffic police in the traffic lanes behind and next to the transport vehicles will be controlled with the escort of Police patrol cars. Traffic next to the transport vehicles will be prohibited.
From Monday 25 November 2024 until Wednesday 27 November 2024, from 09:00 a.m. until 15:00 p.m., work will be carried out to replace damaged safety barriers on the shoulders and the central island on sections of the Paphos - Limassol motorway in both directions. During the execution of the work, one lane of traffic in each direction will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 500m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. On the Limassol-Paphos motorway, in the section from Erimi to the Bridge near Petra tou Romiou, during the period 28/5/2024 - 15/12/2024, except Fridays, weekends and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 - 15:30, irrigation works will be carried out on the central island by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane in one direction of the road will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 200m and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. In the Larnaca district, on the Larnaca Airport-Ayia Napa and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, during the period 11/11/2024-30/12/2024, excluding weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, pruning and watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions, by the Forestry Department. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections for a length of 500m at a time. Traffic will not be affected. On the Larnaca Airport-Agia Napa motorway, heading towards Ayia Napa, from Wednesday 06/11/2024 until Friday 29/11/2024, daily except weekends, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, work will be carried out to install reflective elements on the concrete safety barriers of the central island of the motorway. During the work, the right lane of the motorway will be partially closed for a distance of approximately 2 kilometers and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, during the period 09/09/2024 – 23/12/2024, bridge upgrade/repair works will be carried out on the Kalavasos bridge. During the works, the two lanes of the highway towards Limassol, approximately 1 km long, will be closed to traffic. Traffic will be diverted to the opposite direction, which will operate in two-way traffic. Also, the entrance to the highway, towards Limassol, from the old Limassol - Nicosia road at the Zygi junction will be closed and traffic from the old road to the highway will be diverted via the Governor's Beach junction. On the Limassol-Paphos highway and the Limassol Bypass, from Thursday 07/11/2024 until Thursday 05/12/2024, excluding weekends, between the hours of 07:30-16:00, sweeping works will be carried out on the shoulders in both directions. The cleaning works will be carried out on the shoulder of the road, without affecting the traffic lanes. Also on the Limassol Bypass, in the section from the New Hospital junction to the Mouttagiakas junction, from Monday 11/11/2024 to Thursday 05/12/2024, from 20:00 in the evening until 06:00 in the morning of the next day, Monday to Thursday, cleaning works of rainwater grates will be carried out. During the works, one lane of the motorway will be closed in sections over a length of 200m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. In Larnaca, the Larnaca-Dhekelia coastal road, from the height of the Oroklini Fire Station to the Oroklini Organized Beach (Kiosk), will be closed to traffic in both directions from 03/7/2024 for seven months, in the context of of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”. During the works, traffic will be diverted via Galaxia Street to Oroklini. Drivers are urged to be careful. From Friday 19/7/2024 and for a period of approximately 6 months, construction works will be carried out on a roundabout on Akamantos Street near the Church of Panagia Zalakiotissa in Pegeia. During the execution of the works, traffic to and from Pegeia will be diverted via Racherou, Sarakkou and Koliakas Streets, in accordance with the on-site road markings. Only residents will be allowed to enter the intermediate work area. In Lakatamia, works will be carried out on Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street, from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Pefkou Street, starting from Friday 12/5/2023 and for a period of 20 months, as part of the improvement/construction of Ippokratous, Argyroupoleos Avenues and a section of Tseriou Avenue and Strovolou Street. At the same time, during the same period, as part of the reconstruction of Ippokratous Avenue, Themistokleous Street and Areos Avenue will be closed from their intersection with Themistokleous Street to Nikaias Street and Kentavrou Street respectively. Also in Lakatamia, from Monday 25/11/2024 until Thursday 28/11/2024, from 20:30 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning, removal and resurfacing works of the existing road surface will be carried out on the following roads as follows: Monday 25/11/2024: A section of Strovolos Avenue in the direction from Lakatamia to Strovolos, immediately after its junction with Kilkis Street and up to its junction with Evzonon Street, will be closed. Drivers heading towards Strovolos should use Eleonon Street via Kilkis Street. Tuesday 26/11/2024: A section of Makarios III Avenue in Lakatamia at the intersection with Agios Georgios and Melinas Mercouris streets will be closed. Drivers heading towards Deftera, Lakatamia and Anthoupoli are urged to use Agios Georgios Street via Irakleous and Alamanas streets. Drivers heading towards Strovolos should use G. Kranidiotis and Pefkou via Dionysios Solomos, Axios and Karyatidon Streets Wednesday 27/11/2024 – Thursday 28/11/2024: A section of Makarios III Avenue in Lakatamia, heading from Deftera to Strovolos, will be closed from the height of the Post Office to its photo-controlled intersection with Agios Georgios and Melinas Merkouri Streets. Drivers heading towards Strovolos/Lakatamia are urged to use Pefkou Street. In all cases, during the execution of the works, there will be appropriate temporary signage for the smooth flow of traffic in the various directions. In the Nicosia district, in sections of the Anthoupolis–Astromeritis–Karvounas intercity road, from Monday 14/10/2024 until Friday 30/11/2024, excluding weekends, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, work will be carried out to cut/prune acacias and other trees. During the work, the adjacent traffic lane will be closed in sections for a length of approximately 50-100m. each time and traffic will be diverted to the other traffic lane using Stop and Go. Also in the Nicosia district, on the eastern bypass road of Tseri, from Monday 18 November 2024, work will be carried out to shape the junction of the Tseri bypass with Tseri Avenue. During the works, traffic from and to the Tseriou bypass towards Tseriou Avenue will be diverted via Agios Georgios Street. In Kyperounta, on the Karvounas-Kyperounta road, from 30/9/2024 to 26/11/2024, from 07:00 to 16:00 in the afternoon, construction work on retaining walls will be carried out on sections of the road. During the works, one lane of traffic, approximately 100m long, will be closed at any time and traffic will be managed alternately with the “STOP & GO” system with appropriate signage. In the Limassol district, on the Kato Platres-Prodromos road, from Monday 09/09/2024 to Friday 20/12/2024, from 06:30 to 16:00, daily, CFP wall lifting works will be carried out on sections of the road. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed at any time for a length of approximately 100m and traffic will be managed alternately with the “STOP & GO” system with appropriate signaling. Also in the Pelendrio area, on a section of the Trimiklini - Pelendrio road, from 30/9/2024 to 26/11/2024, from 07:00 to 16:00 in the afternoon, mesh cleaning works will be carried out on slopes from loose soil. During the works, one lane of approximately 100m in length will be closed at any time and traffic management will take place alternately.On the old Paphos-Limassol road, during the period 13/5/2024 – 12/5/2025 (for 12 months), construction work will be carried out to stabilize a section of the road, opposite Petra tou Romiou (near the CTO refreshment bar in Petra tou Romiou). During the works, the section of the road being reconstructed will not be available to traffic. There will be continuous and unhindered traffic police traffic on both sides of the construction site. Traffic on the old Paphos-Limassol road in the direction from Paphos to Limassol will be diverted from the Petra tou Romiou exit (after Aphrodite Hills on the left) and from Limassol / Pissouri to Paphos from the Pissouri exit, on the Paphos-Limassol motorway.
Also on the old Paphos-Limassol road, in the section near Petra tou Romiou, construction works for road stabilization measures will be carried out between 17/06/2024 and 16/06/2025. Specifically, the works will be carried out to stabilize the slope and the road surface, as part of the 2nd Phase of the works being carried out on the road, following the major landslides that had occurred since 2019. During the works period, 17/06/2024-16/06/2025, a section of the old Limassol-Paphos road, near Petra tou Romiou, will be temporarily closed to traffic in both directions towards Paphos and towards Limassol. The temporary signage will be the same as in the 1st Phase of Works. Specifically, the necessary signage and information will be placed on the parallel section of the Limassol-Paphos motorway, as well as on the two cut-off sections on the old Limassol-Paphos road, near the western Pissouri-Petra tou Romiou exit and near the Kouklia exit, to inform drivers intending to head towards Petra tou Romiou.
In the Vasilikos area, from Thursday, February 22, 2024, fencing works are underway at the Vasilikos Energy Center, which will last until February, 2025.
During the period October, 2024 – December, 2024, works will be carried out to upgrade bus stops and shelters on urban roads in the districts of Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, and Famagusta. The works include excavations on sidewalks to create foundations and then installation of new shelters at bus stops.
