The news that a Cypriot police officer at the British Episcopal Bases allegedly had intercourse with corpses in the mortuary of the Bases, including small children, causes horror. He himself allegedly did not just have sex, but took photos and videos.
According to completely cross-referenced information from SIGMA, the policeman's colleagues have long been observing some strange movements of his at the morgue.
His movements raised some suspicions and the particular person was placed under discreet surveillance. The Authorities of the Bases gave instructions to be placed on standby for investigation of the case, officially.
The alleged necrophiliac Policeman was suspended but not arrested as disciplinary offenses are being investigated against him at this stage.
On Thursday morning, the Authorities of the British Bases requested the assistance of the Authorities of the Republic to secure a search warrant at his home. The request was accepted and the investigation was carried out in the presence of members of the Cypriot police.
Cell phones, phone cards, computer and USB were found and confiscated at the suspect's house.
According to information from SIGMA, the authorities seized photos and videos of corpses, even of small children. It is noted that, in addition to a disciplinary investigation, a criminal investigation is also underway.
As experts tell us, when a healthy person has sexual contact with a dead body, then there are risks of transferring germs from the dead body to the healthy body, such as hepatitis, streptococci, HIV and ptomaine toxins.
It is recalled that we had a similar case in the past and specifically in 2007 with the owner of a funeral home, who, according to the revealing report of SIGMA at the time, transmitted an infectious disease to his partner, after intercourse they had with each other.
It is noted that after the publication of the report, the British Bases Police issued a statement stressing that the reports that an SBA police officer is connected to necrophilia are completely false.
“We can confirm that there is a criminal investigation into an SBA police officer for dereliction of duty.
As this is a police investigation, we cannot provide specific details that could undermine the investigation. Any further details will be shared when necessary," they said in their statement.
