MASS KILLS OF DOGS BY POISONS DENOUNCED IN ANARITA

Filenews 16 October 2024 - by Dora Christodoulou

Criminal practices have been reported by hunters, hunting associations and ordinary citizens in the area of Anarita, in the Paphos district, in recent days.

According to the complainants, since last Sunday an unknown person or persons have been placing poisoned food in areas where there are dogs and other animals, resulting in mass killings of animals. The complaints state that the problem is particularly acute in the area of KEN Anarita, but also in a large radius of the entire wider area, up to the border with the community of Episkopi.

In just one morning, organized hunters denounce, three hunting dogs tragically died from poisoned meat, while other animals, such as foxes, hedgehogs and others, have been found dead for days.

The residents of Anarita call for an immediate investigation into the conditions of purchase and use of the poison by these unscrupulous people, arguing that in such a small community this is not difficult to investigate.
