It is recalled that the King of Jordan is participating in the MED9 Summit, at the invitation of President Christodoulides, where issues of common concern will be discussed extensively with the leaders.

According to the Government Spokesman, President Christodoulides "praised the role Jordan plays in the region, and referred to the joint initiative between Cyprus and Jordan for the creation of a regional forest firefighting center based in Cyprus with a permanent presence of aircraft, a development that, if implemented, will not only act as a catalyst in dealing with crises in our region, but will also be tangible proof of regional cooperation and its prospects for the whole the region".

"The two leaders underlined the exceptional importance of Jordan's presence at today's Summit, especially at this critical time for our wider region, and expressed the hope that concrete, tangible actions will emerge that can be taken jointly," Letympiotis noted.
