FREE EXCURSIONS TO AKAMAS - Return for period October to December 2024 The Tourism Development and Promotion Company of the Paphos Region is re-introducing for the next quarter the provision of free excursion to Akama communities for awareness of points of interest and increase traffic. This initiative is part of the support measures for the Akama communities, which were announced by the President of the Republic of Cyprus and financially supported by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.
The excursion will take place every Saturday for the months of October, November and December 2024.
What does it include? The tour starts at 9:15 am. from the bus stops at the Archaeological Park of K. Paphos and is carried out by bus. It crosses along the coastal area and through the forest of Pegeia, arrives at the first station, in the community of P. Arodes. Visit to the Akama Geology and Palaeontology Information Center. Visitors there can explore exhibits that highlight its geological history and paleontological findings Akama Peninsula.
Then a quick stop is made in the village square of Arodes for a coffee break or refreshment. (Drinks are NOT included in the excursion). Next stop, the community of Inia and a visit to the Turtle Museum. Guests can delve into the world of sea turtles and learn about their biology, behaviour and efforts to preserve them.
Afterwards, a visit to Drousia village and the Rural Life and Traditions Information Center of Akamas. Opportunity for participants to explore the Museum and watch the locals to create culture. Workshops / live performance of local arts are offered and crafts.
At noon, transfer to the neighbouring village of Kathikas to visit the Regional Visitor Center Bird Fauna and Flora of Akamas. The exhibits showcase the variety of birds and plants that are located on the Akama Peninsula, through interactive applications, photos and videos.
Afterwards, free time for lunch at a local restaurant, cafe or walk. (The meal NOT included in the excursion).
15:30 Departure for Paphos with expected arrival at 16:15 at the Archaeological Museum parking lot Kato Paphos Park. The excursion ends here.
