In a short ceremony at Larnaka Airport, the new Cyprus Airways Academy presented its fleet and infrastructure, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Costas Koumis. Cyprus Airways' state-of-the-art Airbus A220, next to the Academy's training aircraft, was a symbol of synergies between the Group's companies.
Last summer, Cyprus Airways Group acquired the historic Aviator Flying Centre aviation training school. The new team will focus their energy, experience and care on the new academy, called "Cyprus Airways Flying Academy" to create a centre of excellence in aviation training.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Koumis, stated: "We are pleased to witness the development of new sectors that make Cyprus a regional service center."

The Owner of the Group, Mr. Mikhail Alenkin, in his message stated: "With the creation of the Academy, our Group continues to invest in the Cypriot market. We believe in Cyprus' potential in the aviation sector and we prove it with our initiative today."
The Accountable Director of the Academy, Christos Limnatitis, stated: "Our vision is to create a center of excellent aviation training services, among the best in Europe and a reference point for the Eastern Mediterranean region."
The visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Aquila AT-01 and Diamond DA-40 trainer aircraft, as well as the ALSIM FNPT II simulator of the school, while they also visited the Airbus A220 of Cyprus Airways.
