A drunk driver on the central avenue of Apostolou Pavlou was immobilized by citizens.
The citizens then called the police and handed over the motorcycle driver who not only caused an accident, fortunately without injuries, but tried to escape by making dangerous manoeuvres and endangering the integrity of other users of the network.

The Department of Customs and Excise in cooperation with members of the Police proceeded to confiscate drugs and tobacco products.
Specifically, on 4/10/2024, officers of the Department of Customs and Excise at Larnaka Airport in cooperation with members of the YKAN stopped for inspection a 58-year-old woman with Brazilian citizenship, who arrived in the early morning hours on a flight from Belgrade. During the radiodiagnostic and physical inspection of her luggage, 2 kilograms and 116 grams of cocaine were located and seized, which were carefully hidden in the suspect's backpack.
Subsequently, the suspect was arrested and handed over to YKAN officers along with the seized quantity of drugs for the continuation of the investigation.
On the same day, officers of the Department of Customs and Excise in a coordinated operation with OPE of Larnaka conducted a search at a café in the Aradippou area. During the inspection, 30 boxes of cigarettes of 200 pieces each were found and confiscated, which did not bear the label for the harmful effect of smoking in Greek and Turkish, nor the security feature and the unique traceability code, indications that they were duty-free. The owner of the café was arrested and then his proposal for an extrajudicial settlement of the crimes committed was accepted and he was released, after paying a compromise amount of €2,500.

The fourth charge, to which the 41-year-old was found guilty, was participation in and acceptance of crimes committed within the framework of a criminal organization.

In the context of investigating a case concerning the offences of transporting dangerous objects to a sports ground, illegal possession of explosives and use of dangerous objects in a sports ground, the Police arrested one person yesterday.
He is a 21-year-old resident of Limassol who was arrested on the basis of a court warrant and taken into custody.
According to the data under examination, following an evaluation of the closed circuit surveillance, before the start of the AEL – Ethnikos Achna football match that took place last night in Limassol, a fan, who had his face covered with a face shield, was detected in the south stand in possession of smoke gas and distributed them to other persons.
At the start of the match, a number of fans in the South Stand lit and used smoke canisters, while the 21-year-old was also seen lighting two smoke canisters.
Through continuous monitoring of the person in question and with the appropriate actions, after the end of the game, he was located and stopped for control.
A mask was found in his possession and as a result he was taken to a Police Station, where he was arrested on the basis of a court warrant.
The Episkopi Police Station continues the examinations.
