 Pafos Live 27 October 2024

Almost two tons of rubbish from the shore and the bottom of the basin of the port of Kato Pafos were collected today by dozens of volunteers who participated in the campaign organized by the Cyprus ports authority. Along with the cleaning of the seabed, land cleaning was organized from the port to the Lighthouse.

The campaign organized by the Cyprus Ports Authority involved university students, children from academies of sports clubs, winter swimmers, coastal and fishermen's associations, the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research, the Port and Maritime Police and non-governmental organization AKTI.

All collected waste was initially transported to the platforms and after their separation in licensed management units.
