Polish Airlines LOT resumed flights from Warsaw to Larnaka Airport on Monday.
In a statement, LOT Airlines said that "the inaugural flight to Larnaca took off on October 28 at 10:40 am from Warsaw Chopin Airport. Polish Airlines LOT has resumed its scheduled air link between Warsaw and Larnaka.'
"At a ceremony held at Chopin Airport, attended by, among others, Andrzej Ilków, President of the Board of Directors of Polish Airports (Polskie Porty Lotnicze) and Robert Ludera, Director of the Network Office of Polish Airlines LOT, passengers started their flight to Larnaca, which lasted 3.5 hours."
Flights on the WAW-LCA route "will operate four times a week – Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday – during the winter season. The frequency of flights will increase to six times a week, except Tuesdays, during the summer season.
Robert Ludera, Director of LOT's Network Connectivity Office, said: "As Polish Airlines LOT, we are well aware of the attractiveness of the Larnaca destination. Data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus show that in 2023 Poland was the third largest market in terms of the number of tourists visiting Cyprus.
He added that "given the travel preferences of Poles, the inclusion of Larnaka in our route network was obvious. Larnaca, due to its location and the number of attractions it has, is an ideal place for relaxation almost all year round."
Maria Kouroupi, Director Aviation Development and Communication at Hermes Airports, "welcomed LOT back to Cyprus at a time when tourism demand between Poland and Cyprus is growing rapidly. LOT has been an important partner of ours for years and the launch of flights in the winter season is also in line with our strategy to develop year-round connectivity in our country."
He also said that "we look forward to further cooperating with LOT to expand its presence."
