In the context of the Police's efforts to return third-country nationals residing illegally in Cyprus to their countries of origin, more than 160 persons have been repatriated/deported from the territory of the Republic of Cyprus in the last week.
Specifically, through voluntary and forced return procedures, 168 migrants staying illegally in Cyprus have been repatriated in the last week. 130 through the voluntary return procedure and 38 through the forced return procedure.
From the beginning of the year until 10/09/2024, 7,338 persons who were staying illegally in Cyprus have been repatriated, while in the corresponding period last year 6,491 had been repatriated.
The Police continues to focus its efforts on maximizing the number of repatriation of third-country nationals residing illegally in the Republic of Cyprus, in coordination with other competent Services.
