Pharmacists who, as announced a moment ago by the Pancyprian Pharmaceutical Association, have decided to abstain from the day and night schedule in protest against their opening hours, will not operate their pharmacies during non-working hours and days.
The Pancyprian Pharmaceutical Association, in a relevant announcement, states that the Director of Pharmaceutical Services has already been informed and explains that the reason for the reaction of pharmacists is the decree of the Minister of Health concerning the opening hours of pharmacies.
"Citing the reasons for the decision, the President of the PPC, Plutarch Georgiadis, points out that the tolerance of the PPS has been exhausted as for 2 years now the appeal of an individual number of colleagues for the working hours has been waiting for the trial, while at the same time the rights of a large portion of pharmacists are violated."
Some pharmacies, explains the President of the PPC, do not observe the working hours – either because they break the law or because they have secured an "interim order" from the court – thus to the detriment of the daily pharmacy".
